A few things have happened since my last renovation update. First off, I finally got people in to sand and varnish the parquet floorings and skirtings. The original plan was just to do the floors, but when the people came I just asked them how much it is to help me sand and varnish my wooden doors, 7 in total. I was given a price that I couldn’t resist so did that as well. Don’t have the pictures for the end result as I have to wait till the varnish dry. Don’t wanna risk introducing foreign particles in the rooms that will affect the varnish finishing.

Apart from the parquets, we finally manage to put in all the ceiling lights as well. Almost all the lights have been replaced apart from the kitchen lights and one of the room light since the condition was quite good. The new lights were all bought from Ikea and I just bought all the bulbs from there as well. Fortunately/Unfortunately the bulbs from Ikea are all “warm” colours meaning they’re all yellowish. Couple that together with the colours of my walls and here’s what you get in the end.

Well, looks like I have to get some “white” bulbs to replace some of the Ikea bulbs I have.
Will update again soon later this week; the aircons and carpentry installations will start in a day or two. Looks like the end game is near..
Hi,
I’ve bought a flat at Punggol which will be ready in 2010. It’s gonna be 93sq, 4 rooms. Was rather depressed ‘coz have heard that it’s very tiny. But looking at your place,I think you have done it up rather well and made me feel much much better!
I hope the renovations are all done and I can’t wait to see your completed abode!!
P.S. A good combination of colours for your living room as well!=)
Hi Huda,
My renovations went well, since I really didn’t do much. 93sq 4 rooms is not big but definitely adequate. You’ll appreciate it more when you start cleaning up the place.
But it’s really a bummer to wait till 2010 to get your own place huh.
